Liner Hanger
A Liner Hanger is a tool/system that is used to hang a liner or screen in a production well
Key reasons of using liners are:
· Open hole is cased off faster
· Less weight for a wellhead
· Better cementing
· Less Rig capacity required
· Cost advantage over a full casing string
Modern liner hanger systems consists of a liner hanger, polished bore receptacle (PBR) and a liner-top packer.
Petrovision’s landing collar is used when setting liner hanger prior to cementing. A steel ball seat in the ball seat of the hanger allowing pressure to be applied to the hanger to set the slips. Increasing the pressure after setting the hanger shears the ball seat allowing full circulation for cementing operations. The shear value of ball seat is adjustable to meet the requirements of the hanger. The landing collar incorporates a latch mechanism to accept , lock and seal the liner wiper plug upon completion of cementing.
